CHILDREN-Nepal (CN) successfully conducted its Social Audit for the fiscal year 2080/081 under the leadership of its President, Mr. Shanta Paudel. CN has been conducting its social audit annually. This event marks a significant milestone in the organization’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community engagement. The event was graced by the presence of the Honorable Padma GC, Minister for Agriculture, Land Management, and Cooperatives of Gandaki Province, who attended as the Chief Guest. In her keynote address, Minister Padma GC praised CHILDREN-Nepal for its impactful social work across the province. She reaffirmed the provincial government’s dedication to supporting and collaborating with CHILDREN-Nepal and other non-governmental organizations to further social development initiatives throughout Gandaki Province. As the social auditor, Mr. Dipendra Shrestha compiled a comprehensive report of Children Nepal, with highlighting its significant milestone achievements and key challenges faced. Mr. Shrestha presented a detailed report during the program.
The social audit was carried out with active participation from a diverse group of stakeholders, including beneficiaries, women, children, parents, farmers, school teachers, representatives from child clubs, the National Human Rights Commission, local government and government officials, civil society organizations and networks, the NGO Federation, the National Child Rights Council, school principals, social workers, producers and fair traders, media personnel, as well as staff and members of CHILDREN-Nepal. This participatory process ensured that voices from diverse groups were heard and contributed to the assessment. Mr Shrestha collected valuable feedback also from the participants during the event. Attendees praised the organization’s ongoing dedication to social service and its continued support for women, children and their parents from disadvantaged and marginalized communities.
The social audit reaffirmed Children Nepal’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and a community-centered approach in all areas of its work. The organization’s leadership expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their openness and constructive feedback.
