Fair Trade is a trading partnership based on dialogue, transparency and respect, which seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalized producers and workers—especially in the Southern Hemisphere.
Fair Trade organizations, recognized by the WFTO logo, have a clear commitment to the principal core of their mission. Then, backed by consumers, are actively engaged in supporting producers, raising awareness and campaigning for changes in the rules and practices of conventional international trade. Fair Trade proves that greater justice in world trade is possible. It shows how successful businesses can, and should, put people before profits.
